Woman marries a bridge
Countries discuss same-sex marriage, but not marriage to a bridge. Last month, an Australian artist, Jodi Rose, fell in love with a 600-year-old bridge in France and married it. France does not agree with marriages between people and bridges. Fourteen guests went to the wedding to see the couple become bridge and wife. The mayor of the nearby town blessed the marriage. Jodi wore a white wedding dress. She gave the bridge a very large ring. Jodi Rose visits bridges worldwide to record their sounds and movement. She makes experimental music. She said it was love at first sight for her bridge. She blogged that: "Although he is made of stone…I feel at peace…He makes me feel connected to the earth," especially after travelling. Ms Rose said she loves "the spiritual vibration in everything". She said her new partner is: "The perfect husband…strong and silent". |
