READING:

One in eight people in the world is very hungry. That's 842 million people, or 12% of people worldwide. In 1992, it was 17%. Almost 98% of them live in poor countries. Many countries cannot feed their people. Africa has the most hungry people. One in five Africans is hungry. In some countries, 25% of Africans are hungry.

The World Food Programme said hunger is "not having enough food for an active and healthy life". Hunger is not getting the energy you need. Hunger is a very big problem. Poor countries that are at war have bigger problems. Climate change will make the world hotter. This means less food and more hunger in the future.
