READING:

There is a map of the eye colour of British people. The most common colour is blue. Many years ago it was brown. Nearly half of people have blue eyes. Edinburgh is where most blue-eyed people live. The southwest of England has the fewest blue-eyed people. Scientists do not know the reason for this.

The number of blue-eyed people is getting bigger. People think blue is more beautiful. Blue-eyed people find partners more easily. It's like a peacock. A colourful peacock gets more mates. People like the light in blue eyes. Darker eyes have less light. A scientist said people like blue eyes because they used to be rare.
