The United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has told leaders to end their addiction to coal. He said the "must be overcome". Mr Guterres said the fuel was a " threat" to climate change. He was in Thailand for the ASEAN . He said: "Countries in these are countries that are in one of the most areas to climate change." He added : "Unless we are able to...defeat climate change, in 2050, the has forecasted that 300 million people in the world will be flooded by water."
Mr Guterres said climate change was, "the biggest to the planet at the moment". He added: "We have to put a on carbon. We need to stop subsidies for fossil ." He urged countries to stop building coal-power electricity so we can defeat climate change. The UN spoke on a day that saw "hazardous" levels of air pollution in Delhi.
