Dubai has many world records. It has the tallest skyscraper, largest shopping mall, and most luxurious hotel. The UAE city now has the world's deepest dive pool. Deep Dive Dubai is 60 metres deep. It is filled with 14 million litres of water. This is the same as six Olympic-sized swimming pools. The water temperature is 30º Celsius, so divers do not need thick wetsuits. The pool is in an oyster-shaped underground complex with an 80-seat restaurant and conference rooms. There is also a film studio with an editing room. This means movie-makers will use the pool to film underwater scenes.
The Crown Prince of Dubai was one of the first guests at Deep Dive Dubai. He did a dive. Actor Will Smith also visited the pool. Deep Dive Dubai's website invites visitors to "explore a stunning underwater attraction that is themed to resemble an abandoned sunken city". It will take several dives "to explore the underwater city, which is filled with adventure and wonder". The pool has 56 cameras for the safety of divers. There are sound systems and high-tech lighting to create different underwater moods. The pool's staff are all expert international diving professionals.
