Hot drinks burn many children. Parents must understand everyday things in the home are dangerous for babies. The most dangerous age for babies is nine months. When babies start crawling and walking, they touch everything. They do not understand danger. Parents must know how high their baby can reach.
Researchers looked at children's burns from different U.K. hospitals. Most burns happened to one-year-olds. Most of the injuries were from hot drinks. A hot drink can burn a baby, even after 15 minutes. A baby's skin is thinner than an adult's skin. It is easier to burn. Parents must put hot things out of reach of small children.
