An online made the Coca-Cola Company change its for drinks. The world's largest drinks will remove a called brominated vegetable oil (BVO) from drinks like Powerade. BVO is a food . It contains the chemical bromide, which is used in to prevent fires. A Coca-Cola spokesman said: "All of our , including those with BVO, are ….The safety and quality of our products is our highest ."

The U.S. removed BVO from its "generally recognised as " list in 1970. A few ago, an American started a petition to get BVO removed from drinks. She asked why it was put in drinks. Over 200,000 people signed the petition. The said: "It's really good to know that companies…are listening to ." She added was that drinks around the would "be a little bit without BVO".
